Heart to Paws: 2025 Impact

Since 2022, Merck Animal Health has helped vulnerable communities across Canada keep their pets warm and cared for — especially through organizations that welcome families and individuals experiencing homelessness together with their animals.

A small change with a big impact!

In 2022, Heart to Paws expanded beyond sweaters to include leashes, booties, collars, and blankets, inviting Canadians to donate new or gently used items through participating veterinary clinics.

In 2025, the program took another step forward. Each clinic was directly paired with a local eligible organization, strengthening community ties and ensuring every donation reached pets in need before the holidays. This new model brought the program’s mission closer to home — proving that every small act of kindness can travel far, from one heart to another, and from one paw to the next.

Since 2022, Heart to Paws

has brought together over 500 veterinary clinics and 47 local eligible organizations across Canada, collecting more than 26,000 items for pets in need — from sweaters and blankets to leashes, collars, toys, and more.
Every donation represents a small act of care that warms hearts and paws alike.

In 2025

85 clinics and 21 local eligible organizations joined forces to collect 3,789 pet care items, helping hundreds of animals stay warm, safe, and loved through the winter.
