Caring for Canadian pets and their
humans in their time of need

Our Unconditional Commitment to Compassion

Since 2017, Merck Animal Health has been providing pet sweaters to vulnerable communities across country – especially working with shelters that allow families without homes (including their pets) to stay together within their walls. In 2022, the Heart to Paws program expanded to include other pet care items such as leashes, dog booties, collars and blankets. Canadians were also invited to contribute by donating new or gently used items at participating veterinary clinics.

Sharing the warmth in numbers

In 2022, 153 veterinary clinics joined Heart to Paws to help collect:

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
(Such as toys, pet beds, bandanas, unopened food and more)

Thanks to your contributions, we were able to assemble and distribute nearly 200 kits to shelters across Canada.

Merck Animal Health employees helped sort the thousands of donations received in 2022, including handmade blankets.
